Come learn about the human brain and nervous system through a hands-on workshop centered around the study of intact biological specimens.

About the Event
his interactive workshop will be conducted on the Des Moines University campus (Google Maps). Participants can choose to attend either on the July 25th 2019 or the 26th July 2019 (from noon-4pm). Lunch will be provided. Registration and participation in the workshop is completely free to high school or community college biology/science) teachers. All participants will be provided with powerpoint templates pre-populated with relevant content covering topics such as: the organization of the Gross Brain and Blood Supply, Meninges, CSF and Ventricular system, Brainstem, Cerebral cortex and an overview of the motor and sensory pathways. You will have the opportunity to capture your own images of relevant anatomical specimens, during our observations, and to use this to supplement your teaching of the human nervous system. Please note spaces for the class are limited to 20 people. Registration is required!
